Banking team moves from Deloitte Legal to Thümmel, Schütze & Partner
News from 12.09.17
The banking practice headed by Dr. Nicolai-Anselm von Holst has switched from Deloitte Legal to Thümmel, Schütze & Partner in Berlin. Dr. von Holst will be supported by two associates, Tobias Gronemann and Albert Noll; on the one hand, and paralegal and research staff, on the other. The new arrivals will enhance Thümmel, Schütze & Partner’s Berlin office in banking and capital markets, established under the leadership of equity partner Olaf Sachner.
The arrival of Dr. von Holst’s team comes on the heels of the recent arrival of two experienced attorneys in the firm’s Dresden office and represents part of a considerable expansion of the Berlin office’s banking and capital markets practice.
Dr. von Holst provides comprehensive counsel not only regarding credit and financial services institutes in banking and capital markets questions, but also regarding litigation on both the plaintiff and the defendant side. Furthermore, he provides counsel in connection with implementing and modifying company retirement pensions and questions of employment law regarding permissible legal services, and he also serves as a university lecturer in this field.
Dr. von Holst is also a notary. The firm’s Berlin office is now represented by two notaries.
The new arrivals strengthen the firm’s expertise in banking, both substantively and in terms of staffing. Headed by Dr. Hervé Edelmann, the firm’s banking practice is fully staffed with over twenty professionals at four offices throughout Germany, in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Dresden, and Berlin, and it is positioned both to handle large-scale class-action proceedings and to counsel banks and financial service providers concerning highly complex legal questions in specific cases.
