Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Rolf A. Schütze

Lawyer and Notary a.D.

born in 1934; le­gal stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Bonn, Freiburg/ i.Br., Gene­va and Lux­em­bourg; ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 1962.

As an ar­bi­tra­tor Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Rolf A. Schütze has been in­volved as pre­sid­ing ar­bi­tra­tor, ar­bi­tral tri­bunal mem­ber or sole ar­bi­tra­tor in more than 100 most­ly in­ter­na­tion­al cas­es in ad-hoc and in­sti­tu­tion­al ar­bi­tra­tion pro­ceed­ings (ICC, DIS, In­ter­na­tion­al Court of Ar­bi­tra­tion at Vi­en­na and Re­gion­al Cen­tre for Ar­bi­tra­tion, Kuala Lumpur). In many oth­er cas­es he act­ed as par­ty rep­re­sen­ta­tive be­fore ar­bi­tral tri­bunals. Since 1983 Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Rolf A. Schütze is a hon­orary pro­fes­sor at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Tübin­gen for In­ter­na­tion­al Civ­il Pro­ce­du­ral Law. He is a mem­ber of var­i­ous pro­fes­sion­al as­so­ci­a­tions, in­ter alia the Ger­man So­ci­ety for Pub­lic In­ter­na­tion­al Law and the Aca­dem­ic Union for In­ter­na­tion­al Civ­il Pro­ce­du­ral Law. Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Rolf A. Schütze is the au­thor of lead­ing pub­li­ca­tions on In­ter­na­tion­al Civ­il Pro­ce­du­ral Law, Bank­ing Law and Ar­bi­tra­tion.

On 20 Oc­to­ber 2010 the Aris­tote­les Uni­ver­si­ty of Thes­sa­loni­ki award­ed Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Rolf A. Schütze the hon­orary doc­tor­ate.

Dr. Harro Wilde

Lawyer and Notary a.D.

born in 1950; le­gal stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Tübin­gen and Bonn, as­sis­tant lec­tur­er at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Tübin­gen (Prof. Dr. Rothoeft). Ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 1977, ap­point­ment as no­tary pub­lic in 2000. Pub­li­ca­tions in the ar­eas of com­pe­ti­tion law, con­flict of laws and re­al es­tate law. Mem­ber of the As­so­ci­a­tion for In­dus­tri­al Prop­er­ty Rights and Copy­right.

Dr. Har­ro Wilde is li­censed to prac­tice as an at­tor­ney-at-law (Recht­san­walt). In his prac­tice as an at­tor­ney, Dr. Wilde ad­vis­es both do­mes­tic and for­eign clients with re­gard to all ques­tions of IP rights and copy­right. He is reg­u­lar­ly in­volved with reg­is­trat­ing and de­fend­ing trade marks on a na­tion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al lev­el as well as with in­ter­net law is­sues. Fur­ther­more, Dr. Har­ro Wilde fo­cus­es on ad­vis­ing cor­po­rate clients in com­plex merg­er con­trol and an­titrust mat­ters. He has ac­quired ex­cel­lent ex­per­tise in the le­gal as­sess­ment, prepa­ra­tion and fil­ing of M & A trans­ac­tions with na­tion­al and Eu­ro­pean car­tel au­thor­i­ties, as well as in struc­tur­ing ver­ti­cal dis­tri­bu­tion agree­ments and oth­er mea­sures with a po­ten­tial im­pact on com­pe­ti­tion law.

Dr. Wilde’s office as notary ended on 29.02.2020. Dr. Jan Knöbl was appointed as notarial administrator and acting notary.

Dr. Gerhard Bollmann

Lawyer and Notary

born in 1957; Dr. Ger­hard Boll­mann stud­ied law at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Göttin­gen; as­sis­tance pro­fes­sor at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ham­burg (chair of Prof. Dr. Ze­uner); Recht­san­walt since 1987; No­tar since 2002.

Prop­er­ty trans­ac­tions and Cor­po­rate Law have been the tra­di­tion­al prac­tice/ com­pe­tence ar­eas of Dr. Boll­mann for more than twen­ty years. Be­side his lit­i­ga­tion prac­tice in the afore­men­tioned ar­eas, he is now con­cen­trat­ing on his work as a no­tary pub­lic.

Dr. Boll­mann han­dles all as­pects of Prop­er­ty trans­ac­tions in­clud­ing draft­ing, no­ta­riza­tion and re­al­iza­tion of pur­chase con­tracts for prop­er­ty cor­po­ra­tions and banks as well as for pri­vate per­sons. Par­ti­tion of prop­er­ty in ac­cor­dance with the Con­do­mini­um Act (Woh­nung­seigentümerge­setz) is part of his dai­ly work, as well as ad­vice on fi­nanc­ing and col­lat­er­al­i­sa­tion pro­ce­dures.

Dr. Dirk Plagemann

born in 1953; le­gal stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Bonn and Freiburg i.​Br.; Dr. Plage­mann was sec­tion head at the Max Planck In­sti­tute for For­eign and In­ter­na­tion­al Crim­i­nal Law, Freiburg i.​Br. He was ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 1983 and prac­ticed first in Stuttgart. Since 1990 Dr. Plage­mann prac­tices in Dres­den. The fo­cus of Dr. Plage­mann´s le­gal prac­tice is ad­vis­ing com­pa­nies on re­gion­al, na­tion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al mat­ters, rang­ing in scope of ad­vice from the in­cor­po­ra­tion to suc­ces­sion and ques­tions of re­struc­tur­ing. Among his main clients are re­al es­tate com­pa­nies, both for­eign and Ger­man com­pa­nies do­ing busi­ness abroad, with a spe­cial re­gion­al fo­cus on North Amer­i­ca.

Dr. Plage­mann is al­so ac­tive in the field of train­ing and ed­u­cat­ing and has sev­er­al teach­ing as­sign­ments in this ca­pac­i­ty. He is al­so mem­ber of var­i­ous su­per­vi­so­ry boards and ad­vi­so­ry boards.

Severin Birkmann

Lawyer

born in 1962; Sev­erin Birk­mann com­plet­ed his le­gal ed­u­ca­tion at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Würzburg and Spey­er. He qual­i­fied as a Ger­man lawyer in 1991, the year when he joined the firm. Sev­erin Birk­mann has been a part­ner of our firm since 1997. He has played a sig­nif­i­cant part in es­tab­lish­ing our firm’s re­al es­tate prac­tice. He is a mem­ber of the Work­ing Group “Con­struc­tion Law” of the Ger­man Lawyers´ As­so­ci­a­tion, of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Bau­recht and of the Fo­rum Pub­lic Ten­ders.

Sev­erin Birk­mann’s ar­eas of prac­tice in­clude ad­vis­ing do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tion­al in­vestors and prop­er­ty de­vel­op­ers on all as­pects of prop­er­ty trans­ac­tions, pro­ject de­vel­op­ments and prop­er­ty/fa­cil­i­ty man­age­ment. Dr. Martin Asal

Lawyer

born 1964; studied at the Universities of Tuebingen, Heidelberg, and Munich; doctoral work with the Faculty of Law at the University of Munich (under Dr. Peter Badura and Dr. Udo di Fabio); since 1996, attorney in Stuttgart, since 2014, also a lecturer at RWTH Aachen University, Institute for Urban Planning and Transportation.
Dr. Asal – as consultant and trial counsel of record – practices construction and real estate law.
The core of Dr. Asal’s practice focuses on project awarding and realization. His clients include similarly renowned project development and construction enterprises, private investors, and industrial enterprises, as well as the German federal states, municipalities, and other corporate bodies organized under public law. Dr. Asal provides advice for projects that are diverse in nature and scope. His practice encompasses major projects such as railroad stations and railroads, shopping centers, and urban neighborhood developments, particularly within the framework of rehabilitation efforts in the context of urban development, or industrial facilities – as well as other projects that are small but no less demanding in the legal advice required, such as acquisition of property for construction, office and factory developments and relocations, restructuring real estate by terminating leases, rebuilding or new construction, or the purchase and sale of real estate. Dr. Asal and his colleagues work together to address the tax aspects of real estate transactions, and he frequently enjoys working in close cooperation with his clients’ tax consultants.
Dr. Asal’s work additionally focuses on public construction and planning, encompassing apportionment, rehabilitation, and eminent domain proceedings as well as planning on the state and regional levels.

Dr. Sönke Anders

Lawyer

born in 1964; Dr. Sönke An­ders stud­ied law at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Freiburg and Di­jon (France). Ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 1995. Cer­ti­fied spe­cial­ist lawyer in ad­min­is­tra­tive law and public procurement. Mem­ber of the Ger­man Lawyers’ As­so­ci­a­tion and the Fo­rum Pub­lic Ten­ders.

Dr. Sönke An­ders is spe­cialised on pub­lic pro­cure­ment law. He ad­vis­es gov­ern­ment au­thor­i­ties on pro­cure­ment pro­ce­dures. In con­tract award re­view pro­ceed­ings, he rep­re­sents both con­tract­ing en­ti­ties and ten­der­ers.

An­oth­er fo­cus of Dr. An­ders ac­tiv­i­ties is on an­ti-trust law, with em­pha­sis on the fields of abuse con­trol and pri­vate en­force­ment.

Dr. Andreas Wax, Maître en droit

born in 1976; legal studies at the Universities of Tübingen, Aix-Marseille III (Maîtrise en droit, mention droit international et européen) and Speyer (German University of Administrative Sciences); legal training period in Brussels; assistant lecturer at the University of Tübingen; Attorney since 2007; Equity Partner since 2012, Member of the German-French Lawyers’ Association and Club d’Affaires Franco-Allemand du Bade-Wurtemberg.

Dr. Wax is mainly active in the field of real estate transactions and provides comprehensive advice for both, purchasers and sellers. He supports and promotes the projects in every aspect from the outset of legal due diligence to purchase agreement negotiations up to the signing. Furthermore, he advises the owners in respect to all relevant questions with regard to reals estate management, especially the drafting of lease- and service contracts. He further conducts all necessary communication with public authorities.

Christian Raiser

Lawyer

Born in Tuebingen in 1986; studied law at the University of Tuebingen; worked at the University of Tuebingen (Chair of Dr. Karl-Hermann Kästner); clerkship at the Regional Court of Tuebingen and posted to Stuttgart and Singapore by Thümmel, Schütze & Partner.

Mr. Raiser is admitted to the Bar in Stuttgart and as a registered foreign lawyer in Singapore.

His focus areas include international contracts as well as IT and sales and corporate law, in which he supports German and international clients in connection with cross-border investments in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Real estate comprises an additional practice focus for Mr. Raiser. In particular, he provides legal advice, including legal due diligence, for real estate transactions.

Katrin Etteldorf

Lawyer

born 1977; studied law with specialized foreign-language training in English at the University of Augsburg. Attorney-at-law since 2004. Specialist attorney for labor law, for construction and architect law, and for banking and capital markets law.
Member of the Verband deutscher ArbeitsrechtsAnwälte e.V. (the Association of German Labor Law Attorneys), member of the working group for banking and capital markets law of the German Bar Association, member of the Saxony Bar Association’s specialized attorney committee for banking and capital markets.
On the individual and collective labor side, Ms. Etteldorf represents and advises employers, including medium-sized companies, and management. Her practice focuses on strategic negotiation and litigation management, the structure and implementation of reorganization and restructuring measures, and advising on and accompanying negotiations with the works council including, but not limited to, regarding interest balancing and social plans. In addition, Ms. Etteldorf assists with the implementation of entrepreneurial concepts, e.g., flexible work models and variable compensation. Moreover, Ms. Etteldorf conducts continuing education for human resources staff and senior management, especially by giving in-house seminars.
On the banking and capital markets, Ms. Etteldorf represents credit institutes, financial services companies, and leasing companies. She also has many years of experience in asset management. Litigation encompasses, on the one hand, enforcing contractual claims, and on the other, defending against claims alleging breach of contract.
