Alina Link

Lawyer

born in 1993; studies at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen; research assistant at Thümmel, Schütze & Partner from 2017-2021; legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Stuttgart.

Ms. Link was admitted to the bar in 2021 and has been a member of our construction and real estate law practice area since then. In addition to assisting in real estate transactions in the context of due diligences, both on the buyer’s and seller’s side, Ms. Link comprehensively advises her clients in all matters of private and public real estate law, in particular commercial tenancy law, and represents them in and out of court.

In addition to her work at Thümmel, Schütze & Partner, Ms. Link is completing her doctorate under Prof. Dr. Heinrich (Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen) on the issue of criminal sanctions for violations of tenancy law.

Severin Birkmann

Lawyer

born in 1962; Sev­erin Birk­mann com­plet­ed his le­gal ed­u­ca­tion at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Würzburg and Spey­er. He qual­i­fied as a Ger­man lawyer in 1991, the year when he joined the firm. Sev­erin Birk­mann has been a part­ner of our firm since 1997. He has played a sig­nif­i­cant part in es­tab­lish­ing our firm’s re­al es­tate prac­tice. He is a mem­ber of the Work­ing Group “Con­struc­tion Law” of the Ger­man Lawyers´ As­so­ci­a­tion, of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Bau­recht and of the Fo­rum Pub­lic Ten­ders.

Sev­erin Birk­mann’s ar­eas of prac­tice in­clude ad­vis­ing do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tion­al in­vestors and prop­er­ty de­vel­op­ers on all as­pects of prop­er­ty trans­ac­tions, pro­ject de­vel­op­ments and prop­er­ty/fa­cil­i­ty man­age­ment. He al­so spe­cial­izes in pub­lic pro­cure­ment and lit­i­ga­tion.

Dr. Martin Asal

Lawyer

born 1964; studied at the Universities of Tuebingen, Heidelberg, and Munich; doctoral work with the Faculty of Law at the University of Munich (under Dr. Peter Badura and Dr. Udo di Fabio); since 1996, attorney in Stuttgart, since 2014, also a lecturer at RWTH Aachen University, Institute for Urban Planning and Transportation.
Dr. Asal – as consultant and trial counsel of record – practices construction and real estate law.
The core of Dr. Asal’s practice focuses on project awarding and realization. His clients include similarly renowned project development and construction enterprises, private investors, and industrial enterprises, as well as the German federal states, municipalities, and other corporate bodies organized under public law. Dr. Asal provides advice for projects that are diverse in nature and scope. His practice encompasses major projects such as railroad stations and railroads, shopping centers, and urban neighborhood developments, particularly within the framework of rehabilitation efforts in the context of urban development, or industrial facilities – as well as other projects that are small but no less demanding in the legal advice required, such as acquisition of property for construction, office and factory developments and relocations, restructuring real estate by terminating leases, rebuilding or new construction, or the purchase and sale of real estate. Dr. Asal and his colleagues work together to address the tax aspects of real estate transactions, and he frequently enjoys working in close cooperation with his clients’ tax consultants.
Dr. Asal’s work additionally focuses on public construction and planning, encompassing apportionment, rehabilitation, and eminent domain proceedings as well as planning on the state and regional levels.

Dr. Sönke Anders

Lawyer

born in 1964; Dr. Sönke An­ders stud­ied law at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Freiburg and Di­jon (France). Ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 1995. Cer­ti­fied spe­cial­ist lawyer in ad­min­is­tra­tive law and public procurement. Mem­ber of the Ger­man Lawyers’ As­so­ci­a­tion and the Fo­rum Pub­lic Ten­ders.

Dr. Sönke An­ders is spe­cialised on pub­lic pro­cure­ment law. He ad­vis­es gov­ern­ment au­thor­i­ties on pro­cure­ment pro­ce­dures. In con­tract award re­view pro­ceed­ings, he rep­re­sents both con­tract­ing en­ti­ties and ten­der­ers.

An­oth­er fo­cus of Dr. An­ders ac­tiv­i­ties is on an­ti-trust law, with em­pha­sis on the fields of abuse con­trol and pri­vate en­force­ment.

Dr. Sönke An­ders has ac­com­pa­nied nu­mer­ous struc­tural and civ­il en­gi­neer­ing pro­jects. He ad­vis­es pub­lic au­thor­i­ties in ques­tions con­cern­ing state aid law. In ad­di­tion, he acts for and rep­re­sents com­pa­nies and pri­vate land own­ers on mu­nic­i­pal rates and pub­lic build­ing law.

Dr. Rainer Albert

Lawyer

born in 1965; le­gal stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Würzburg; ad­mis­sion to the Ger­man Bar in 1995.

Dr. Rain­er Al­bert is spe­cial­ized in lit­i­ga­tion, rep­re­sent­ing ma­jor in­sur­ance com­pa­nies – es­pe­cial­ly in pro­fes­sion­al mal­prac­tice cas­es in the field of di­rec­tors’ and of­fi­cers’ li­a­bil­i­ty for wrong­ful acts, and prop­er­ty dam­age cas­es. Dr. Al­bert’s clients in­clude at­tor­neys, no­tary publics, tax ad­vis­ers, di­rec­tors, man­agers, su­per­vi­so­ry and ad­vi­so­ry board mem­bers, ac­coun­tants and port­fo­lio man­agers. Katrin Etteldorf

Lawyer

born 1977; studied law with specialized foreign-language training in English at the University of Augsburg. Attorney-at-law since 2004. Specialist attorney for labor law, for construction and architect law, and for banking and capital markets law.
Member of the Verband deutscher ArbeitsrechtsAnwälte e.V. (the Association of German Labor Law Attorneys), member of the working group for banking and capital markets law of the German Bar Association, member of the Saxony Bar Association’s specialized attorney committee for banking and capital markets.
On the individual and collective labor side, Ms. Etteldorf represents and advises employers, including medium-sized companies, and management. Her practice focuses on strategic negotiation and litigation management, the structure and implementation of reorganization and restructuring measures, and advising on and accompanying negotiations with the works council including, but not limited to, regarding interest balancing and social plans. In addition, Ms. Etteldorf assists with the implementation of entrepreneurial concepts, e.g., flexible work models and variable compensation. Moreover, Ms. Etteldorf conducts continuing education for human resources staff and senior management, especially by giving in-house seminars.
On the banking and capital markets, Ms. Etteldorf represents credit institutes, financial services companies, and leasing companies. She also has many years of experience in asset management. Litigation encompasses, on the one hand, enforcing contractual claims, and on the other, defending against claims alleging breach of contract.
