Dr. Franck Schmidt-Husson


born in France in 1967; Dr. Franck Schmidt-Hus­son stud­ied law at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Freiburg, Bor­deaux (France), Saar­brück­en and Mu­nich (Cen­tre for Ph.​D.​Studies). He worked as an as­sis­tant lec­tur­er at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Saar­brück­en and earned his doc­tor­ate de­gree with a the­sis on broad­cast­ing law. Ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 2002, Dr. Schmidt-Hus­son is a mem­ber of the Ger­man As­so­ci­a­tion for In­sur­ance Sci­ence, the Ger­man-French Lawyers As­so­ci­a­tion, and the Fran­co-Ger­man Busi­ness Club (re­gion­al chap­ter of Baden-Würt­tem­berg).

Dr. Schmidt-Hus­son coun­sels and rep­re­sents cor­po­rate and in­di­vid­u­al clients in the fields of cor­po­rate and pri­vate com­pa­ny law, as well as Ger­man and in­ter­na­tion­al in­sur­ers in un­der­writ­ing, claims han­dling and cov­er­age mat­ters. In ad­di­tion, he prac­tis­es in the area of Ger­man-French le­gal re­la­tions. One of his main fo­cus­es is with is­sues aris­ing at the in­ter­face of cor­po­rate and in­sur­ance law: in the field of D&O li­a­bil­i­ty and D&O in­sur­ance. Here, Dr. Schmidt-Hus­son ad­vis­es com­pa­nies and their man­age­ment on the pre­ven­tion of li­a­bil­i­ty (com­pli­ance), de­fends li­a­bil­i­ty claims on be­half of in­di­vid­u­al in­sureds, mon­i­tors li­a­bil­i­ty pro­ceed­ings on be­half of in­sur­ers, and al­so serves as cov­er­age coun­sel to in­sur­ance car­ri­ers.

The busi­ness mag­a­zine “WirtschaftsWoche” (is­sue of 14 March 2011) ranked Dr. Schmidt-Hus­son among the renowned D&O lawyers in Ger­many.
