Peggy Pytlinski

Lawyer

born 1977; studied at the University of Dresden, study stays in Capetown and Sydney, Attorney-at-law since 2003. Specialized attorney for banking and capital market law.

many years of experience as banking litigation lawyer in a major German law firm.

Member of the working group for banking and capital markets law of the German Bar Association.

Ms. Pytlinski specializes in representing credit institutions and medium-sized companies in banking and civil law matters both, out of and in state courts. She has extensive practical experience in strategic negotiation and litigation management, whether in complex individual legal disputes or multiple proceedings. She advises her clients especially in civil contract law, credit and investment law but also in payment services matters. In addition, she regularly deals with complex enforcement cases and has experience in arbitration.

Ms. Pytlinski regularly lectures at banking law events.

Carsten Sieper

Lawyer

Born in 1987; attended the University of Marburg and the University of Augsburg. Clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Munich. Admitted to practice as an attorny-at-lay since 2015 with the exception of a year and a half as a judge. Mr. Sieper’s practice focuses on banking and capital markets law as well as litigation in general. In addition, he also deals with issues relating to contract law. He is based at our location in Frankfurt/Main. He is specialized attorney for banking and capital markets law

Mr. Sieper belongs to our banking and capital markets practice and represents credit institutes in disputes both in and out of court.

Dr. Yedan Li

Legal Counsel China Desk

born in 1985; Dr. Li studied law at Dalian University of Technology, Xiamen University in China, Cheng Kung University in Taiwan and received her Doctoral degree of law from University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands in 2015. She is qualified to practice law in China since 2008. Before Dr. Li joined TSP, she worked as postdoctoral researcher at Bielefeld University in Germany, as an assistant professor at Shandong University in China, as well as practiced law in a leading Chinese law firm.

She has published several articles in international legal journals such as Law & Social Inquiry, Asian Journal of Law and Society etc.

In the recent years, Dr. Li has been focusing on providing legal service to Chinese clients who invest in Europe, especially in Germany. She has rich experience in cross-border transactions and law compliance in Germany and in China.

Her main interests include M&A transactions, commercial law, dispute resolution and information law.

Fabian Walderich

Lawyer

born in 1984; attended the University of Tübingen; Attorney-at-law since 2013. Employed at a major inter-national law firm from 2013 to 2015 and at Thümmel, Schütze & Partner since May 2015. Mr. Walderich is a specialist attorney for labour law and member of the Labour Law Group of the German Bar Association.

Mr. Walderich advises and represents primarily em-ployers, but also managing directors and senior man-agement, in all matters concerning individual and collective labour law, both in and out of court. A focus of his work consists of advising in the area of termina-tion law, including works constitutional matters, creat-ing and optimizing employment agreements and labour law in connection with Mergers & Acquisition. Mr. Walderich is specialised in advising foreign compa-nies that are doing business in Germany. In addition, Mr. Walderich has special expertise in the law appli-cable to commercial agents.

Severin Birkmann

born in 1962; Sev­erin Birk­mann com­plet­ed his le­gal ed­u­ca­tion at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Würzburg and Spey­er. He qual­i­fied as a Ger­man lawyer in 1991, the year when he joined the firm. Sev­erin Birk­mann has been a part­ner of our firm since 1997. He has played a sig­nif­i­cant part in es­tab­lish­ing our firm’s re­al es­tate prac­tice. He is a mem­ber of the Work­ing Group “Con­struc­tion Law” of the Ger­man Lawyers´ As­so­ci­a­tion, of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Bau­recht and of the Fo­rum Pub­lic Ten­ders.

Sev­erin Birk­mann’s ar­eas of prac­tice in­clude ad­vis­ing do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tion­al in­vestors and prop­er­ty de­vel­op­ers on all as­pects of prop­er­ty trans­ac­tions, pro­ject de­vel­op­ments and prop­er­ty/fa­cil­i­ty man­age­ment. Prof. Dr. Hervé Edelmann

Lawyer

Born 1961 in Beirut, Lebanon; law study, doctoral work, and teaching assistant at the University of Marburg (endowed chair of Dr. Bodo Pieroth – doctoral supervisor – and Dr. Werner Frotscher). Attorney-at-law and specialist for banking and capital markets. Visiting professor for bank contract law and capital investments at the University of Leipzig. Member of the Academic Society for Banking Law (the Bankrechtliche Vereinigung – Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Bankrecht e.V.) and the working group for banking and capital markets.
Dr. Edelmann has been a member of the board of the Stuttgart Bar Association since April 2012 where he has also been chair of the examination committee for specialists for banking and capital markets since 2007. He has made a name for himself in the field as the author of numerous publications and of the newsletter Banken-Times SPEZIAL Bankrecht, which appears monthly in cooperation with the Heidelberg Finance Colloquium. He also lectures at banking law events.
Dr. Hervé Edelmann is the practice group leader of the banking and capital markets practice. In addition, he is frequently active in litigation defense of claims arising under government liability, and advises various medium-sized and financial services enterprises during in-court proceeding.

Dr. Andreas Chmel

Lawyer

born in 1970; le­gal stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ties of Tübin­gen and Cata­nia; PhD at the Hum­boldt-Uni­ver­si­ty Berlin; Recht­san­walt since 2001. Lec­tures amongst oth­ers at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Tübin­gen; pub­li­ca­tions and le­gal opin­ions on labour law and the law on ser­vice con­tracts re­lat­ed sub­jects.

Dr. Chmel pri­mar­i­ly coun­sels and rep­re­sents em­ploy­ers, as well as ex­ec­u­tives in all as­pects of in­di­vid­u­al and col­lec­tive labour law. The con­sul­ta­tion of for­eign in­ter­na­tion­al com­pa­nies with ac­tiv­i­ties in Ger­many and Eu­rope is one of his main fo­cus­es. Dr. Chmel is, in­ter alia, spe­cial­ized in the con­clu­sion and ter­mi­na­tion of em­ploy­ment con­tracts and ser­vice con­tracts of man­ag­ing di­rec­tors and board mem­bers, lit­i­ga­tion and re­struc­tur­ing in­clud­ing as­pects of col­lec­tive bar­gain­ing law such as the “es­cape” from col­lec­tive bar­gain­ing agree­ments. Jens Haubold

Olaf Sachner

born in 1961; Olaf Sach­n­er stud­ied law at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mar­burg; he was ad­mit­ted to the Ger­man Bar in 1997. Mr. Sach­n­er is a Cer­ti­fied Lawyer for Bank and Cap­i­tal Mar­ket Law and mem­ber of the bank­ing law as­so­ci­a­tion “Aca­dem­ic So­ci­ety for Bank­ing Law e.V.”

Be­fore join­ing Thümmel, Schütze & Part­ner in 2005 Mr. Sach­n­er worked as an in-house coun­sel for a ma­jor Ger­man bank­ing group in Frank­furt/Main and Berlin for more than 12 years.

Mr. Sach­n­er has ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in the ar­eas of gen­er­al bank­ing law, cor­po­rate lend­ing, re­struc­tur­ing and in­sol­ven­cy law, as well as prop­er­ty fi­nanc­ing.

Dr. Amela Schön

Studied law at the University of Tübingen and at the University of Konstanz; Ph.D. from the University of Tübingen in corporate law. Dr. Schön was admitted as an attorney-at-law in 2016.

Dr. Schön advises large and mid-sized (family-run) companies, D&O insurers, banks, and international credit institutes. Her practice focuses not only on corporate, business, D&O insurance, and banking law, but also on civil litigation.

Dr. Schön is a member of the international legal honor society Phi Delta Phi – Richard von Weizsäcker Inn Tübingen, and sits on the editorial board of JSE, professional development journal.

Andrea Neuhof

Lawyer

Born in 1978; attended Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg. Admitted to practice as an attorney-at-law since 2006, and specialized attorney for banking and capital markets since 2011. From 2006 through 2017, Ms. Neuhof was an attorney-at-law in a Nuremberg boutique firm specializing in banking.

Ms. Neuhof advises and represents credit institutes both in and out of court, particularly in general banking matters, in credit and credit security, capital investment, and in bankruptcy appeals. Additionally, she has practical experience in pre-trial company reorganization by banks.

Ms. Neuhof is a member of the working group for banking and capital markets of the Deutscher Anwaltverein, the Österreichische Bankwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft, at the ReTurn Forum für Restrukturierung und Turnaround Management in Vienna, as well as in the Juristische Gesellschaft Mittelfranken zu Nürnberg e.V. and in the experts’ committee of the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, she is active as a speaker at expert seminars and lecture events.
