Thümmel Schütze and Tang Thomas intensify their cooperation in Singapore
Thümmel Schütze has had its own office in Singapore since 1982. By intensifying the co-operation, the commitment at the Singapore location and on the Asian market will be further strengthened. Half a century in the legal industry
Since 1973, the law firm Thümmel Schütze has been a fixture in the industry. With half a century of experience behind it, the firm now duly celebrated its golden anniversary.
Since its foundation in the heart of Stuttgart, Thümmel Schütze can now look back on an impressive history. With over 50 lawyers in its ranks, the firm has a major influence in commercial law, both regionally and nationally. Its expertise ranges from advising on real estate law to banking and capital markets law, corporate law, D&O liability, labour law and data protection law.

50 years of success - the celebrations
On 13 October 2023, the firm's anniversary was appropriately celebrated. It was an occasion where Thümmel Schütze solemnly recognised and honoured its achievements and contributions to the legal industry. The celebration was attended by partners and staff from all locations.
Particular focus was placed on the proud legacy of the past five decades and reinforcing the commitment to excellence in legal services in the years to come. Thümmel Schütze opens office in Munich
Stuttgart/Munich, August 1, 2023 – Thümmel Schütze is expanding its range of consulting services and opening an office in Munich. The renowned law firm is thus continuing its claim to be close to its clients. The partners Dr. Tilman Schultheiss and Dr. Andreas Wax manages the office and the three-strong team that Thümmel Schütze is strengthening in Munich.
The newly opened office at Franz-Joseph-Strasse 10 will specialize in real estate and construction law, banking law and commercial criminal law. The opening of the office in Munich is an important milestone for the successful implementation of the vision of creating a comprehensive range of consulting services close to the client.
"In Munich we already have a broad customer base and very good business relationships, which we want to expand further. With our newly opened office, we want to look after our clients on site even more closely, better and faster," says Dr. Tilman Schultheiss. Reception of the Icelandic Honorary Consulate in Stuttgart on 29 June 2023
On 29 June 2023, the traditional reception for the National Day of the Republic of Iceland took place at the offices of the law firm Thümmel Schütze in Stuttgart. Prof. Thümmel, the Icelandic Honorary Consul for Baden-Württemberg, Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland, gave a brief overview of the history of Iceland since the country's independence, which took place on 17 June 1944, in his welcoming speech. The Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, Dr. Frank Nopper, emphasised Iceland's special achievements in politics, economy, sports and culture in his welcoming speech. The Icelandic Ambassador, H.E. María Erla Marelsdóttir, was pleased about the presence of many Icelanders from the region and emphasised the nice community and good cooperation between Iceland and Germany. The reception was magnificently framed by a cello concert by two students from the Stuttgart Music Academy, Ms Maria Qing Sigridardottir and Mr Josef Dragus.
Handelsblatt Best Lawyers: The best lawyers of 2023
The renowned US publisher Best Lawyers has identified Germany's top lawyers and leading commercial law firms for 2023 exclusively for Handelsblatt. The current issue in Handelsblatt is based on the 15th Best Lawyers rating.
Each year, the renowned U.S. publisher Best Lawyers compiles a Best Lawyers list based on a peer-to-peer survey of commercial lawyers. In the process, lawyers are asked to give their recommendations for outstanding competitors in their respective fields of law. This year, six lawyers from Thümmel Schütze were recommended in four areas of law. Among them is Dr. Jörg Henzler as Lawyer of the Year.

Prof. Dr Roderich C. Thümmel becomes new Managing Editor of Der Aufsichtsrat
The renowned lawyer and honorary professor at the University of Tübingen, Prof. Dr. Roderich C. Thümmel, will be the new managing editor of the trade magazine "Der Aufsichtsrat" with immediate effect. He follows in the footsteps of Prof. Dr. Dr. Manuel R. Thümmel.
Prof. Dr. Roderich C. Thümmel is a well-known face in the German legal profession. The expert in corporate law and arbitration dispute resolution will be responsible for the professional orientation and selection of articles for "Der Aufsichtsrat" as editor. In an interview, he revealed his thoughts on his new role: "I am looking forward to this responsible task and approach the challenge with great enthusiasm. My goal as editor will be to further enhance the high quality of 'Der Aufsichtsrat' and to position the magazine as a leading mouthpiece for professional cooperation between boards of directors and supervisory boards."
Prof. Dr. Roderich C. Thümmel studied law at the Universities of Tübingen and Munich and obtained an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School in 1984. With his German bar admission, he also practices as an Attorney at Law in the US state of New York. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Prof. Dr. Thümmel has long been involved in university research. He has been an honorary professor of international business law and arbitration at the University of Tübingen for many years.
