Julian Ackermann is the point of contact for criminal law at Thümmel Schütze. His focus is on defence in commercial criminal proceedings, particularly in complex investigations and main proceedings. He advises companies, executive bodies and managers as well as private individuals on all matters relating to criminal procedural law.

A significant part of his work involves providing preventive criminal law advice. In this context, he supports companies in setting up and reviewing compliance structures in order to identify and avoid risks at an early stage. In addition, he has particular expertise in the field of cybercrime and assists clients in proceedings involving digital aspects and technical interfaces.

In addition to his work as a solicitor, he is also active in academia. He is co-author of the practical handbook ‘Verteidigung im Ermittlungsverfahren’ (Defence in Preliminary Proceedings), published by C.F. Müller Verlag, and has been appointed by the Munich Higher Regional Court as a guest lecturer for the training of trainee solicitors.

Julian Ackermann studied at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, specialising in criminal defence, criminal jurisdiction and prevention. He has been admitted to the bar since 2017 and joined Thümmel Schütze in 2023.
